First day of College...

Since such a long time I wanted to pendown this memorable day of my life. But just cudnt manage to take out time out of my busy college routine. Finally got some time today and didnt wana miss out on it.
21-August-2010....It was a Saturday. My first day of my new college. IndSearch Instiute of Management...5-6 floor red colour building, situated alomost in a Forest Area.
When I got up in morning, this day wasnt like any other casual day. Waves of thoughts were splashing in my mind. It was finally time to go to my new college...time to enter a new phase of life...time to meet new people and finally time to take another step close to my dreams. The most interesting part was...I was a late admission. College had already started a month ago. This was a reason that I had a heap of questions buzzing my mind. What to wear, whether I should take my lunch-box, how many books should I take and blah blah blah. Clothes was like a big issue for me. As I opened my ward-robe, I almost took half an hour and finally settled down for a semi-formal blue-coloured shirt and brown jeans. All set to go to IndSearch.
It was sharp 8:30am when I reached college. I knew it starts at 9am and I obviously didnt wana go late on the very first day atleast ;-)  As I entered the parking and parked my bike...I started looking around for people to ask about my class. As in where the classes are conducted and all. Just then, a bike came and stopped next to me. A girl got down and parked her bike and started walking. I had no option but to go and speak to her. To my luck, she was from the same class. And this was when I got introduced to the first girl of my college, Reena.
I went to my class with her. It was on the topmost floor. Reena nicely introduced me to few more people of my class. Rachna, Ankita, Shraddha, Shivani and few more. I was somewhere in between the stage known as Excited and Uncomfortable. Here m using the word uncomfortable because I had enterd a place where people already had their own set of friends and groups and I simply didnt know anyone.
The clock struck 9 and it was time for me to attend my first lecture in my new college. Foreign language lecture...it was German class. Fortunatly, this was the first German lecture. Here I got a real hushshsh feel of relief as I came to know that atleast for these 2 hours I wud be sailing in the same boat with the entire class. It was like any other normal first lecture...more of gossips than attention, more of jokes and comments than the subject matter. I actually dint realise when 2 hours got over.
And now we had a guest lecture....first guest lecture in the new journey of MBA. To be very honest, I hardly understood the topic of the lecture because I still had an overflow of thoughts going on in my mind. After the guest lecture came the moment which I hated to face. It was lunch-break. I simply didnt want this to come because though I m very friendly and talkative I wasnt ready to take the initiative of going and sitting with some group. And it was very obvious that no one would come to me voluntarily and ask me to join them. Somehow I managed to while away my time. Now was a time for OB lecture. I really didnt understand when I heard my classmates saying OB and all. The subject is called Organizational Behaviour. I entered the lab along with my classmates with a mind which was currently blank but willing to be the other way out at the end of the lecture. As I settled in a chair...I was very excited to see my professor. And here entered Mr. Rohan Sachdeo, our OB professor. Rohan sir somewhat resembled Chetan Bhagat and somehow it made me feel a lil comfortable and gave me a reason to be attentive (I m a die-hard fan of Chetan and his books). Adding on to my happiness and comfort level...as the lecture began, I realised that the subject is similar to Psychology to quite an extent and the topic being taught was already covered during my graduation. Wow wow wow...Since morning this was the first time when I felt the zeal of enthusiasm. I was in love with this very first subject which I learnt because somehow I could connect myself with it very well.
Before I could realise...the day was over. It was time to go home. Usually college never gets over so early but it was a saturday. Finally it was over. I was very happy because everything went on very smoothly and I was no more gonna face the first day again.
Nervous and more of mixed feelings at the start of it...my first day of college was finally over with a feeling of satisfaction and happiness at the end of it.
